  • Characteristics - Perennial cornflowers are cousins to Bachelor Butttons with bright and showy shaggy pink flowers. Flowers will attract butterflies as the rose-pink thistle-like blooms standout as a beacon!
  • Special Features - This plant is ruggedly hardy and will grow in most types of soils with little care. It is deer and rabbit resistant and makes a great cut flower.
  • Germination - Seeds can be sprinkled outside in the fall as well as put in a cold area for the winter and sown in the spring 6 weeks before the last frost.

Special Note: Centaurea’s heritage extends back to ancient Greek mythology when Chiron the Centaur was wounded by one of Hercules’ poisoned arrows and cured by this plant's miraculous healing powers.
